Dr. McMinds is a quantitative ecologist at the Northwest Indian Fisheries Commission (NWIFC). When he first created this site, he was a research assistant professor in the College of Public Health at the University of South Florida. He received his Bachelor of Science in Marine Science and Biology at the Rosenstiel School for Marine and Atmospheric Sciences (RSMAS) at the University of Miami, and his PhD in Microbiology from Oregon State University under the supervision of Dr. Rebecca Vega Thurber. He is passionate about science communication and connecting research to the immediate needs of people and our environment.
